Lane Middle School Reviews

As a teacher who retired from Lane, I am sad to say that while there were many great teachers that were my colleagues during the many years I was at Lane, the school was plagued by an endless succession of poor administrators who brought with them an endless succession of mindless changes in curriculum and school program design. Teachers and students were never given the opportunity to get fully involved in academic programs before 180 degree changes were instituted. Programs disappeared almost as quickly as they were put in place! I cannot tell you how many times I heard the current VP respond that she did not care when staff members approached her with a concern. It was very hard for me to see the decline of a place where I loved to teach.

Lane Middle is more concerned with welfare of the teachers rather than the welfare of the students. The programs offered are not engaging enough to hold the interest nor motivate the students. The VP and the Principal need lessons in communication with both students and parents.

This school offers great programs and has a very supportive staff.

I am sorry to say that for two years i attended this school. I Was an excelling student there but when i was forced to move i found out that i was way behind in the basic studys. While i had a B in math at this school, I had a F by most other schools standards. It dissapoints me that other children are still being enrolled here.

This school is suffering severely from the no child left behind program. All the remaining students and teachers have been left behind, due to mass exodous of students and funding. If you care about the quality of your child's education do not enroll them there. As a temporary art instructor there I can attest to the sad conditions.
